Dymo is a company that creates an unbelievably popular range of label printers, although if you have arrived here you probably already know that.

If you are a developer looking for a way to utilise Dymo label printers outside of their label printing software then you are need to take a look at Dymo’s website where a downloadable API is available in many formats. These include web development based scripting languages such as VBScript and Javascript. More useful for in application development is the Dymo ActiveX control. In addition, for web-based software applications, we have a guide for the Dymo VBScript API.

Just a side-note: Dymo label printers are often misspelt as ‘Dynamo’, which is obviously incorrect but it is worth noting as many descriptions, tutorials and code snippets misspell the company name in that manner.

A Short Circuit remake may be in production! Quite exciting is the news that Dimension Films which is owned by the Weinstein Company, may be working on a remake of the original Short Circuit film.

The original Short Circuit film from the 80s is about a military SAINT robot. One of the robots, known as Number Five gains intelligence and sentience from a freak power surge from a electrical storm which hits the military installation Number Five is located at.

The film was originally intended to be a dark horror film in which Johnny (Number) Five but after many script rewrites the darker elements were removed. The film then turned out to be a rather light-hearted comedy. I wonder.. will the new remake follow this comedy them or go back to the roots of the initial scripts and make the film a dark horror?

When starting a new forum board based on the vBulletin forum (or in fact an forum software), one of the most common problem is making the board popular and getting users to register. The problem most people face is that users will not register on a forum board that looks completely empty! I mean, who would?

So, how can you do this? People will not register if a board is empty – that much is obvious. Luckily there is forum board plugin for the vBulletin software which create a single fake user or many fake users, dependant on the preferences you set.

Yes, apparently.

A group of English scientists have found that a small protein in saliva (known as histatin) which was only believed to kill bacteria, can also be responsible for the healing of various human tissues.

To come to this conclusion, the scientists used the cells that line the inner cheek (epithelial cells). They grew these cells in dishes until the surfaces were completely covered. Then they made an artificial wound and inserted it into each dish.

In one dish, cells were bathed in an control liquid without any other special biological human elements. In the other dish, cells were bathed in human saliva. After 16 hours the scientists noticed that the saliva treated artificial wound was almost completely closed. In the dish with the untreated wound, a substantial part of the wound was still open. This proved that human saliva contains a factor which accelerates wound closure of oral cells.

Because saliva is a complex liquid with many components, the next step was to identify which component was responsible for wound healing. Using various techniques the researchers split the saliva into its individual components, tested each in their wound model, and finally determined that histatin was responsible.

The cinematic trailer for the new Tomb Raider game, Tomb Raider Underworld looks truly fantastic. Whether or not these graphics were produced by the Tomb Raider Underworld game engine, we can only guess, as the developers have yet to release this kind of information. The PS3 is capable of such graphics, so it may indeed be possible.

This has me asking where Lara Croft will be going in Tomb Raider Underworld, and why exactly she is blowing places up and not raiding tombs. Is the ‘Underworld’ a cursed place? Is she trying to destroy it? Very unusual – looks to be an interesting story line behind Tomb Raider Underworld.

The cinematic Tomb Raider Underworld trailer discussed is shown above.

One of the key elements in Doctor Who is the Doctor’s companion. Out of all of the Doctor Who Girls, Rose (one of the most recent) was the first to have spawned an actual relationship with the Doctor beyond the companionship usually present. This image depicts the Doctor Who girls, emphasising the unusually strange affection Rose has with the Doctor.

I don’t by any means know all the details behind the construction of this paintball sentry gun, nor do I know exactly you’d make you own paintball sentry gun. However, if you want to see a demonstration of an awesome paintball sentry gun, then this is the place. If I could, I’d pay this guy to make me an autonomous paintball gun like this. See the video below:

Remember that paintballing (is that even a word?) can be very dangerous without safety equipment. The guy on the video gets shot at several times. If a paintball from the sentry gun were to have landed directly on his eyes, and he were not wearing the safety helmet he could have easily been blinded.
