A Short Circuit remake may be in production! Quite exciting is the news that Dimension Films which is owned by the Weinstein Company, may be working on a remake of the original Short Circuit film.

The original Short Circuit film from the 80s is about a military SAINT robot. One of the robots, known as Number Five gains intelligence and sentience from a freak power surge from a electrical storm which hits the military installation Number Five is located at.

The film was originally intended to be a dark horror film in which Johnny (Number) Five but after many script rewrites the darker elements were removed. The film then turned out to be a rather light-hearted comedy. I wonder.. will the new remake follow this comedy them or go back to the roots of the initial scripts and make the film a dark horror?
